Each year, the Bethpage Best of LI polls Long Islanders to lay down a roadmap “to the best, top-notch businesses and services throughout both Nassau and Suffolk counties.”

Organizers of the contest have been counting votes since it began, with the winners ultimately chosen by the Long Islanders who rely on those businesses each and every day.

This year, a new eatery emerged as Long Island’s favorite, with Smoke-Haus in Garden City earning top honors, replacing Suffolk County favorite Drift Inn in East Islip.

Besides the wings, other popular options on the menu include traditional smoked meats, sides, an assortment of catering specials, and more unique items such as their smoked porchetta.

“Crispy, juicy, all-white-meat chicken ordered with a Kansas City Red, Buffalo sauce, or the steamy mango habanero are a boneless chicken wing sensation,” pollsters said. "This authentic BBQ eatery serves the trademark dish with Alabama white dipping sauce (with) plenty of meat and varied entrees and great sides draw favor among locals.

“The restaurant has a quick service takeout and relaxed sit-down dining. No choice is wrong here in ordering food at a place regulars say is an eating experience not to be forgotten.”
